AMS Student Chapter
The KU AMS club is a local chapter of the American Meteorological Society (AMS) established in 1992. The club is open to KU students of all majors with an interest in meteorology. The chapter sponsors both social and academic events, and is a great way for students to meet one another.
KU AMS has sponsored events every month and some include:
- Back to School Bowling Night
- Faculty/Student Wiffle Ball
- Atmospheric Science Info Night
- KU Severe Weather Awareness Week
- Meet the Meteorologist Panel
- Annual KU AMS Royals Tailgate
Club meetings are tentatively held on the first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in Lindley 225. Membership dues are $10, cash or check. Please make checks payable to the “KU AMS Club”. Membership dues can be turned in to the club treasurer, Carly Fish.
Elections for 2010-2011 were held on May 4, 2010. Elections for 2011-2012 will be held again at the end of spring 2011. Please contact any of the co-presidents if you have questions.
